Brooklyn Zu presents Buddha Monk - Unreleased Chambers
Brooklyn Zu presents Buddha Monk - Unreleased Chambers

From 1993 until his tragic death in 2004, the late great rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard led what was one-third of the now legendary Wu-Tang Clan dynasty of affiliated artists. Behind the scenes was producer/artist/engineer Buddha Monk, Ol' Dirty's right-hand man, organizing sessions, producing tracks, and getting Dirty from place to place, holding it all together. Fans never got to hear much from the mysterious Brooklyn Zu Family. Buddha Monk has finally agreed to open his vault and unleash the fury of these never-before heard songs that harken back to the crew's most classic period. Featured on this album are none other than Ol' Dirty Bastard himself; Brooklyn Zu ft. 12 O'Clock, Murdoc, Shorty Shitstain; Lil Vicious; Da Manchuz; Shyheim; Prodigal Sunn; Shacronz; Lazah Life; & Zu Ninjaz. Producers include Buddha Monk, Mozart, & Lord Finesse.

Capone - Menace 2 Society
Capone - Menace 2 Society
Latino rapper Capone has been churning out a steady stream of hardcore gangsta rap since the late 1990s, and 2006's MENACE TO SOCIETY continues that trend. With help from his partner Noreaga, Capone lays down the gritty street narratives his fans expect over bumping tracks that favor simple, repetitive, samples. "King of New York" rips a page out of the Kanye West production book and features a sped-up vocal sample, while "Roll With Me" rides over a slow, surging jeep-beat. While this is not the rapper's most essential release, Capone fans will find plenty to appreciate here.

Chamillionaire - Ultimate Victory
Chamillionaire - Ultimate Victory
If success is the sweetest revenge then releasing one of the most anticipated albums of 2007 must be the Ultimate Revenge. Platinum superstar Chamillionaire is back with his highly anticipated sophomore LP Ultimate Victory! Chamillionaire's rise from Houston underground rap pioneer to award-winning, mainstream music luminary was again affirmed earlier this year when the prolific artist was nominated for two Grammy Awards, garnering nods in the Best Rap Song category and for Best Rap Performance By Duo or Group for the hit single Ridin', featuring Krayzie Bone, (which ended in the win for Best Rap Performance by Duo or Group). The prestigious nods came on the heels of his two trophy-takedown at the First Annual BET Hip-Hop Awards in mid-November, where Chamillionaire walked away with both the Rookie Of The Year Award and the coveted Alltell Wireless People's Champ (Viewers' Choice) Awards. The Houston rapper began his incredible run as the most honored hip-hop star of the past year by beating out proven superstars 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and T.I. for Best Rap Video for Ridin' at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Chamillionaire's platinum-plus debut disc has become one of the most lauded albums in hip-hop history, with the single and video for Ridin' topping almost every chart and single-handedly transforming the digital landscape, as well. Incredibly, Chamillionaire became the biggest selling Ringtone artists in history, surpassing an amazing 4 million in ringtone sales, in addition to his groundbreaking Myspace site closing in on an astounding 6 million profile views.

Common - Finding Forever
Common - Finding Forever
Multi-faceted Hip-Hop superstar Common is prepping his highly anticipated seventh album, Finding Forever, for a July 31st release on G.O.O.D Music/Geffen Records. The album is the follow up to the four times Grammy nominated, critically heralded and Kanye West produced Be, which spawned hits including The Corner, Go, and Testify. Finding Forever, finds Kanye again taking the bulk of production work with help from Will.I.Am on the sultry I Want You, the late great J. Dilla on So Far To Go, featuring a surprise guest appearance by D’Angelo and G.O.O.D Music producer Devo Springsteen on Misunderstood. On Finding Forever, Common, rips the mic like a hungry newcomer. The street single The Game produced by Kanye with scratches by the legendary DJ Premier is a horn drenched, vintage NY rap boom-bap banger from the Chi-town emcee, no less. The resounding lead single The People finds Common lyrically asserting why and who he creates his music for over regal strings, delectable keys and hard to get vocals by Gil Scott Heron.
