01. Intro

This intro really sets the tone of the album. When I first heard it I was reminded of the graphic novel Sin City, where this is just one of the many stories of a big city.

02. The Writer

The intro leads right into the first track with a dark feeling beat with a nice rain effect. Definitely the right joint to lead it off to get you into the mood of the album.

03. Sniper Challengers
If you don’t have interest in the album this far, this song will definitely get you pumped. The beat makes you feel like a war is going on. Islord adds a nice guest verse and is actually my favorite part of the piece.
04. Aint Promised Tomorrow
A nice chill track with a high pitched sample that compliments 9th’s unique flow. Tommy Whispers offers a feature and he just goes off on the cut. He also adds a little bit of a story telling element to it.
05. Vandalism
Probably the most stand out song on the album. 9th is just in the zone on this and he really takes you back to early Killarmy. Tekitha also adds a soulful sound to the background with her beautiful vocalizing and hook.
06. Banned From the Radio
This is a great summer banger to listen to when driving in your car. To me, this is one of those songs that always make me feel good when I hear it. It had been released as a single with a video years earlier and I am glad it made the album because I have wanted to own it ever since.
07. Never Front
This track could have easily been on a Killarmy album. 9th and Beretta seem to have a chemistry on this piece like Ghost & Rae or Red & Meth where they kind of bounce off each other throughout the song. The beat is very unique, but seems to work quite well.
08. Prince of New York
I love the beat on this song. 9th spits kind of a simple hook but with so much swagger it makes it dope. It really fits the theme of the album well, which may be the reason the album shares the same name.
09. Street Pharmacist
I hate to say it, but the guest appearances outshined 9th on this one like Holocaust did to Bobby Digital. I had never heard of Paradox previously, but he rips this track to shreds with a flow similar to Killa Sin’s, whose presence might have been missed on the album. T.M.F also adds some nice verses to this posse cut.
10. Fan Voice Mail (Skit)
This was a really great idea for fans to leave messages for 9th while he was incarcerated. However, the quality is a little low so it makes it hard to hear some of the messages.
11. Bottom Line
Another great track with a nice guest spot from Tash Mahogany. One of my favorite lines from the song was, “On rainy days, I walk with a nine tucked under my umbrella.” 9th has always been an emcee with unique lyrics and this track is no exception.
12. Tell a Friend
Might not be the best way to wrap up the album, but 9th still has a solid performance and it leaves you wanting more.

The only thing about this album I didn’t like was the length. It was a little short, but that can easily be forgiven for the fact that all this material was done before he was locked up and they still came together with a comprehensive album. The packaging is very nice with cover art done by one of his fans, and that was what this album was really about, showing the fans appreciation for his support until he is released.
